Replacing Ice Cream with Frozen Fruit.

Ice cream was always my weekend cheat food.  It was my “go-to” cheat that I would indulge in, having reached maintenance phase and I often looked forward to it a great deal, really able to indulge, but while not going too crazy with toppings and whatnot.

I would opt only for the Turkey Hill natural brand or Bryers, the varieties of both that contained very few ingredients with no additives.

The only thing I was contending with was a huge sugar dump and some likely poor quality dairy.

A new organic ice cream came out at my local grocer, but I never got around to trying it, and may sometime soon.

But in the meantime, I decided to just do fruit smoothies on the weekends instead.

I was anxious to see if I could get used to them as an option.

Like anything, it took a few weeks to stop craving the ice cream, but it did happen.  What I like most about this new option is that I get a load of fiber to help “chase” the other cheat foods I have on the weekends (often a restaurant dinner like Mexican or Thai) and help ensure a healthy and easy “exit” the following morning of that food.

So, so far, so good.

At this point, there is even a chance that I am too LOW on sugars overall, considering my workout routines.

So I’m monitoring that as well.
